Greeting from a president

In 2023, we will celebrate our 11th year as the new De-mer. In other words, it is a year of starting a new decade after having spent 10 years with the support of everyone up to this point. First of all, we would like to thank the people of Hachinohe, our hometown, as well as our customers nationwide, for their support and encouragement, which has brought us this far, and would like to make a new start.
Our company is the result of the merger of three seafood processing companies in Hachinohe City, Aomori Prefecture, which experienced damage from the Great East Japan Earthquake of 2011, and we started anew in 2012 with the support of the Enterprise Turnaround Initiative Corporation of Japan (ETIC). During this time, we have developed and sold many products, including our mainstay “Cold Smoked Mackerel” and the “Cutlery Series” of Vinegared Mackerel. Especially in the last four years, we have challenged the possibilities of each type of fish and value-added products, and have won the highest award in the National Seafood Products Quality Competition, where more than 700 seafood processing companies gather every year, with “Sliced Vinegared Mackerel with Japanese Radish (2019),” “Fukaura Salmon Sushi (2020),” “Smoked Scallop (2021),” and “Japanese apricot and Kombu Vinegared Mackerel (2022). We have been awarded the Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Award, the highest award, and other top prizes at the National Seafood Quality Assessment, where more than 700 processed seafood processing companies gather every year.
This year, we will further refine our technology and continue to develop products with “new value that can tell a story” rooted in this region. We would be more than happy to contribute to the local community and deliver products that are loved by everyone.
We will continue to strive to create products with our motto, “Let’s create products from Hachinohe that contribute to the health and joy of our customers.

This year will be a year with many influences on our lives, such as the “COVID-19” with no end in sight, the world situation that continues to cause anxiety, and many price hikes that threaten our lives.
Under such circumstances, we will continue to optimize our operational efficiency, and at the same time, as I mentioned earlier, we will continue to search for and provide products that satisfy our customers, but at the same time, we consider the “safety and health of our employees” to be very important.
In order to achieve this, we will further promote digitalization and adopt analog communication methods. We believe that continuing to take on the challenge of growing into a group of attractive human resources is necessary for sustainable corporate management.
In response to the recent concern about the decline in fish catches, we are working to secure domestic raw materials ahead of schedule from a broad perspective, regardless of the type of fish, and in the processing process, our staff creates products with the keywords “safety and reliability” in mind and with the customers’ best interests in mind. We will keep such work in mind.
We will continue to maintain the spirit of challenge that we have cherished with our employees: “Explore the possibilities to the limit,” “Just try,” and “Never be afraid of failure.

Finally, while we will strive to maintain a corporate structure that is not affected by the external environment, we believe that the safety and security of our customers and employees is more important than anything else, and that only based on this can ideal corporate management be achieved.
This year, we would like to be a company that can permanently deliver both “our cherished thoughts” and “our customers’ desire for good health”.
We look forward to working with you in 2023.
